As a Oral History Master of Arts student at Columbia University, Kangni is exploring oral history as a means of capturing the nuances and perspectives often overlooked in mainstream narratives. In her prior journalism work, she interviewed a wide range of people, from top executives, to janitors, to small restaurant operators. Kangni was born in a rural town in Hunan, raised in Shenzhen, and educated in Beijing.
